Comitini (Zip Code 92020) is 15 Km. distant from Agrigento, the province it belongs to, 58 Km. from Caltanissetta, 196 Km. from Catania, 99 Km. from Enna, 254 Km. from Messina, 124 Km. from Palermo, 151 Km. from Ragusa, 232 Km. from Siracusa, 188 Km. from Trapani.

The municipality counts 966 inhabitants, its surface measures 2.169 hectares, and its population density is of 45 inhabitants per square kilometre. It rises on an internal hilly area, 346 meters above the sea-level..

The Town Hall is located in piazza Bellacera, tel. ++39 0922-600029/600500 fax ++39 0922-600386. A long strip of land between the country towns of Aragona and Grotte, Comitini boasts a substantial agricultural production of  almonds, olives, grapes, an citrus fruits.

The name Comitini probably derives from the name of the nearby and homonymous hill. The feudal suburb was built in 1627 thanks to Lord Gastone Bellacera (to whom the homonymous Square was dedicated).

In 1673, the town was acquired by nobleman Michele Gravina, who was appointed the title of first Prince of the town.

Approximately during the XIX century, the town experienced a broader urban expansion, thanks to the exploitation of the various sulfur mines spread throughout the entire territory.

Among the monuments, it is important to mention the Chiesa Madre erected in 1675 dedicated to S. Giacomo Maggiore, and the Chiesa dell'Immacolata along with its nearby Convent, both of the XVII century.

Also, the magnificent Palazzo Bellacera, dated 1631, and the Palazzo Baronale of the XVI century.
