Lucca Sicula (Zip Code 92010) is 58 Km. distant from Agrigento, the province it belongs to, 128 Km. from Caltanissetta, 254 Km. from Catania, 169 Km. from Enna, 331 Km. from Messina, 101 Km. from Palermo, 194 Km. from Ragusa, 275 Km. from Siracusa, 136 Km. from Trapani.

The municipality counts 2.213 inhabitants, its surface measures 1.841 hectares, and its population density is of 120 inhabitants per square kilometre. It rises on an internal hilly area, 513 meters above the sea-level. The Town Hall is located in via Corvo, tel. ++39 0925-60490 fax. ++39 0925-60585. A small agricultural center, Lucca Sicula boasts a substantial production of cereals, olives, almonds, grapes, and peaches, annually exhibited at the Agriculture Fair held in the month of September. Wooden products are typical of the local handicraft. It is interesting to know that the town was named Lucca by its founder Francesco Lucchese, to remember his homonymous native city.

He built the suburb in 1622 with the necessary "licentia populandi". In 1670, the urban center was acquired by Lord Geronimo Filangeri, who owned it until feudality was abolished. Only in 1863 the appositive Sicula was added to the town's name. The most relevant monuments are the Chiesa Madre, dated 1640, that has a neo-classic alter, and the Chiesa del SS. Rosario of the XVIII century.
