The town of Ribera

Tourism in Ribera

Mount Sara

Ribera is situated on a fertile plateau dominating the nearby valleys. It was founded in 1627 by Luigi Guglielmo Moncada, prince of Paternò.

The town took its name by his wife, Maria Afan di Ribera.

In the immediate surroundings you can visit Mount Sara Park.

Walking along a two km path you reach the underwood, where you find eucalypti, pine trees, cypresses and many other different kind of trees which make a beautiful view.

Amongst the several specimens of vegetation, of great importance from a biological point of view, is the native Dwarf Palm, whose background effect is superb.

Tables and benches, barbecue points and other facilities are scattered all around the 4 hectares. There are also nice and useful springs, whose waters come directly from a natural spring.

Mount Sara is a nice resort but also it wants give you a message: enjoy nature, it is for you and it belongs to you.
