Marianopoli (Zip Code 93010) is 107 Km. distant from Agrigento, 35 Km. from Caltanissetta, which is the province it belongs to, 150 Km. from Catania, 54 Km. from Enna, 247 Km. from Messina, 109 Km. from Palermo, 176 Km. from Ragusa, 226 Km. from Siracusa, 208 Km. from Trapani.

The municipality counts 2.559 inhabitants, its surface measures 1.296 hectares, and its population density counts 197 inhabitants per square kilometre.
It rises over a hilly area, 720 meters above the sea-level.

In 1801, the town acquired its current name Marianopoli.
One of the most relevant monuments is the eighteenth century Chiesa di S. Prospero, that today is called Chiesa Madre, dedicated to the SS. Maria Addolorata.
The Sanctuary of Castel Belice preserves a wooden crucifix of the XVII century, by Frà Innocenzo da Petralia.
Many pre historical findings coming fro the ancient necropolis of Valle Oscura are preserved in the Archeological Museum established in 1984.
