The municipality has 1.205 inhabitants and an area of 4.340 hectares for a density of population of 28 inhabitants per square kilometre.

It rises on a montainous area and is 480 metres above sea-level.

The main economic activities are agriculture and breeding. The most cultivated products are chestnuts, hazel-nuts, mushrooms, grapes, olives, vegetables, forages and maize. Cattle, sheep and goatish breedings are present.

The little town derives its name from Greek Antillos that means sunny.

There are not many historical testimoniesabout Antillo' origin, we know only that it has belonged to the commune of Savoca until 1846 when an ordinance of Ferdinando II, king of the two Sicilies, made of it an indipendent commune.

Very interesting from an artistic point of view are the Memorial War, the Monument to Peasants' world, Mother Church , the Church S. Provvidenza and the Agropastoral Museum

Near of Antillo rises "Il Giardino di Redenzione" an oasis of peace.

On mountain of Pizzo Monaco A bell devoted to the missing of all the wars, bless from Giovanni Paolo II.

It have a weight of five ton and a circumference of six meters.
