Tourism in Brolo
The old castle of Brolo, placed on a height towards the sea, now belongs to marquise Lungamarini of Palermo and it has been probably built, like many other similar fortresses, in the times of king Federick II of Sicily.
Until to half century ago it has been included among the best kept buildings.
Now it is still rounded by walls and loopholes, but the whole structure has completely collapsed. Anything has remained of ornaments and of pieces of furnitures.

The short wall circumference, opened by two doors decorated by the coat-of-arms of the Lancias, was placed in 1500 as defence of the fortress.
In fact after ruinous attacks by pirates of Barbarossa (Redbeard) (1543), in it were placed service lodgings and stores for activities of loader.
The tower, a beautiful example of feudal tower, has been built in the early XV century may be by Pietro o Corrado Lancia.
