Falcone (Zip Code 98060) is 273 km. distant from Agrigento, 218 km. from Caltanissetta, 121 km. from Catania, 177 km. from Enna, 60 km. from Messina, which province it belongs to, 195 km. from Palermo, 225 km. from Ragusa, 179 km. from Siracusa, 294 km. from Trapani.

The municipality has 2.870 inhabitants and an area of 932 hectares for a density of population of 308 inhabitants per square kilometre.

It rises on flat area along the coast and is 3 metres above sea-level.

Pretty agricultural centre, Falcone has a remarkable coltivation of cereals, fruit, citrus fruits, olives and grapes.

These products can be tasted every year in the Fair that takes place in October.

Rich and varied are the fish risources of fresh fish that can be tasted cooked like local maritime recipes establish.

The name falcone has fauna origin; it derives from the homonymous predatory, the hawk.

About the town centre it is known only few information. But it can be fixed that it dates back to the IV century B.C. thanks to several archaeological finds found in the place.

The current town-planning has been recently founded also to use the fertile lands of the little town.

Numerous and characteristical are the town manifestations, symbol of a modern tradition that tends to evoke ancient periods.

Among yearly feasts we cite the Feast of St. John the Baptist patron of the small town on 24 June, Falcone's Carnival with the parade of allegorical carts and Falcone's Summer in July and August.
