Sixty km. from Messina, on the splendid coast which faces Tyrrhenian sea, inside of gulf of Patti, rises Falcone.

The village placed on a territory intensively cultivated and which produces very good products, both for quality and quantity, is very recent.

The small town dates back, in fact, to the second half of the XIX century when it was founded to overwork the enormous resources of the place.

On its seat have been found some findings of the IV century B.C., which testify an ancient human settling later disappeared.

The village shows a very simple and regular town-planning and gets the typical features of an agricultural centre.

Inhabitants, naturally disposed to warm-heartedness, receive foreigner giving quietness and offering traditional flavours which are handed in the time such as dishes of fish.

The village's life is made glad with celebrations kept in the year.

Particularly evocative are the feast of St. John Baptist, patron of the village, kept on 24 June and the Carnival with its amusements, masquerades, dances, merrymakings, which end in the parade of allegoric carts.

In July and August people are involved into Estate Falconese (the falconese summer) rich of music and amusing manifestations. Falcone keeps in October an exibition of Cattle.

Monuments which represent cultural identity of its inhabitants are the Town Hall and the beautiful and simple Church.
