In the main square of the small town of Galati Mamertino, next the war memorial, raises the Cathedral Church dedicated to Assunta (Our Lady received into Heaven).
The inside keeps important works of art, among which two marble groups stand out the former, made by Antonio Gagini (1504-1536) represents the Annunciazione (Our Lady day), the latter, made by Antonello Gagini (1478-1536) and Aurelio Basilicata (1539), represents the Trinità (Trinity).

Important are also the cancas of Gaetano Mercurio (1774) representing the Immacolata and a canvas representing the Martirio of Sant'Agata (St. Agatha's martyrdom) made by a spring unknoown person.
It is possible to admire some canvases signed and dated by Giuseppe Tresca (1753-1818) among which it is particularly interesting San Giacomo Apostolo (St. James Apostle).
