Mandanici (Zip Code 98020) is 268 km. distant from Agrigento, 202 km. from Caltanissetta, 76 km. from Catania, 173 km. from Enna, 38 km. from Messina, which province it belongs to, 297 km. from Palermo, 180 km. from Ragusa, 134 km. from Siracusa, 396 km. from Trapani.
The municipality has 827 inhabitants and an area of 1.165 hectares for a population density of 71 inhabitants per square kilometre.
It rises along the coast on a mountainous area and is xx metres above sea-level.

Main economic activities are agriculture and handicraft.

Besides also local wine is very good. Breedings present are cattle and sheep ones.
Mandanici is also known for its typical handicrafts especially stoves and pipe mouth-pieces made from heather's roots.
The name of the village probably derives from Mandanici, the homonymous textile machines used in the past which were started up by water energy.

The village was founded in the IX century by Arabs in the XI century it has belonged to the basilian Monastery of St. Mary.
Later in 1475 it became possession of Secular clergy.
The most interesting monument is the Cathedral Church dedicated to St. Domenica which keeps inside valuable wood Crucifix and Choir both of '700.
