Roccafiorita is prevalently an agricultural centre. Products mostly cultivated

According to some philologists the name of the village derives from
medieval Latin Rocca Florida, soon after changed into current Roccafiorita. There are not many information about the village but it was founded in the XVII century and in 1614 king Philip III of Spain instituted the principality and named Pietro Balsamo its lord. Later Bonannos became its owners.
From 1929 up to 1947 Roccafiorita was annexed to the commune of
Mongiuffi Melia and later it gained the autonomy.
Very interesting to see is the Feast of Madonna del Soccorso that takes
place every year in August.
