Santa Marina Salina (Zip Code 98050) is a municipality of the isle of Salina and is part of the archipelago of the Aeolian Isles and administratively it belongs to province of Messina.

The municipality has 874 inhabitants and an area of 865 hectares for a population density of 101 inhabitants per square kilometre. Copyright © Reti e Sistemi Main economic activity is agriculture. Products mostly cultivated are preackly pears, olives. It has also a fish production based upon fishing of fresh fish. Besides we mention Malvasia a typical and good local wine. Santa Marina Salina is placed in the centre of eastern coast of Salina isle and derives its name from the church of Santa Maria della Bitinia situated near the greatest salt pan of isles Eolie.

It has been village of commune of Salina till 1909 when it became a self-governing commune. We have not many historical information about the village. There are ruins of Roman buildings and some inscriptions of imperial period. In 1648 was institued a marquisate in honour of Giuseppe Sollima. Towards half of the XVIII century the village has been possession of Alessandro Galletti and Giovanni Pietro II. Near the Town Palace can be seen inscriptions in honour of Augustus and Tiberius and other inscriptions of Hellenistic age.
