Placed on the slopes of mount Abate, San Teodoro has some plantations of olive grooves, citrus orchards and vineyards. The only breeding present is sheep one. Sheeps are in fact displayed in the yearly Fair of cattle kept in May and August.
San Teodoro derives its name from Yeodoro, a Roman soldier who has been martyrized during Diocletian's persecution. The church of San Teodoro is dedicated to him.
Since the XIV century it has been possession of Giacomo de Mustacio, then of Paolo Campolo and finally of Pietro Brunaccini named prince of San Teodoro by Charles II in 1687. In the period between 1928 and 1940 the village has been annexed to Cesarò commune.
The most interesting monument is the Cathedral Church dedicated to SS. Annunziata built in 1692 which keeps a statue of St. Gaetano con il Bambino, a work by Filippo Quattrocchi (XVIII century).
Very important from archaeological point of view are the pre-historic fossils discovered in excavations made in San Teodoro grottoes. The municipality is part of Nebrodi park which is important for its natural beauty and for splendid panoramas.
