Bompietro (Zip Code 90020) is 143 km. distant from Agrigento, 64 km. from Caltanissetta, 133 km. from Catania, 45 km. from Enna, 229 km. from Messina, 125 km. from Palermo, which province it belongs to, 190 km. from Ragusa, 217 km. from Siracusa, 224 km. from Trapani.

The municipality has 1.892 inhabitants and its area is 4.240 hectares for a density of population of 45 inhabitants per square kilometre.

It rises on an inner hill zone and is 685 above sea-level.

Industrious agricultural centre, besides cereals and corn, there is the production of legumes, fruit, almonds and wine-grapes.

The name of Bompietro derives from a person's name, who has not been identifyed but he was Buon Pietro. The small town became self-governing in 1852.

In fact before this year it had been a small village subordinated to Petralia Soprana, another small town.
