Casteldaccia (Zip Code 90014) is 128 km. distant from Agrigento, 127 km. from Caltanissetta, 227 km. from Catania, 146 km. from Enna, 237 km. from Messina, 22 km. from Palermo, which province it belongs to, 264 km. from Ragusa, 285 km. from Siracusa, 121 km. from Trapani.

The municipality has 8.904 inhabitants and its area covers 3.398 hectares for a density of population of 262 inhabitants per square kilometre.
It rises on a coast hilly area, and is 79 metres above sea-level.

Casteldaccia has an ancient tradition in the activity of trasformation of agricultural products.
To back up the economy of the town there is the wine industry, as well as pasta factory and oil mills.
The name of the village derives from the near medieval castle of Solanto, once called Castel d'Accia.
It has risen on a hillock around the early part of the XVIII century, and was founded by Vincenzo Abbate, marquise of Longarini.
In monumental field there is the Church Matrix erected in 1746 with the front with two orders and a small tower of the Palace of the earls of Salaparuta, belonging to the baroque period.
