The Cathedral Church

Consecrated to Santa Fara, patron of small town, the Church was built in the second half of the XVII century.

The outside has only outlined decorations, the inside with its only nave, made from polychromatic marble, keeps still now most of original furnitures.

Among these, worth of particular attention is a valuable mantle decorated with corals and lapis-lazuli by artists of Trapani and it is put towards high altar; there are also a valuable organ still functioning and various paintings and statues mainly representing images bound to Saints'exsistence.

Besides very interesting are also long under ground passages which are under the church and belong to crypt, which once it was a real necropolis.

Its inside, in the ‘80s, have been found about 15.000 corpses and several medals, crucifixes and a variety of finds which are later exhibited in public.
