The Town Hall is in via Colombo n. 1, tel. ++39 091-8617111 fax. +39 091-8677098 toll free number 167-880013 (only for Italian residents).

Among typical products of the isle there are olives, fruit, prickly pears, almonds and many sorts of fish.

The name of Isola delle Femmine, that has nothing to do with women, has either Arabic or Punic origin from fim that means mouth. The very small town was born as a port and was used for tuna fishing.
In 1500 thanks to its large production of fish it was contended by the Earl of Capaci and the archbishop of Monreale. In 1859 it became a self-governing commune.

It is important to visit the Church of St. Maria delle Grazie of the XVIII century. In front of the town a small isle rises at few hundreds metres from it. On the isle there are remains of a small square tower dated back to the XVI century. On the dry land there is its corresponding coeval circular tower.
