Among typical products of the isle there are olives, fruit, prickly
pears, almonds and many sorts of fish.
The name of Isola delle Femmine, that has nothing to do with
women, has either Arabic or Punic origin from fim that means
mouth. The very small town was born as a port and was used for
tuna fishing.
It is important to visit the Church of St. Maria delle Grazie of the
XVIII century. In front of the town a small isle rises at few
hundreds metres from it. On the isle there are remains of a small
square tower dated back to the XVI century. On the dry land there
is its corresponding coeval circular tower.
