Mezzojuso (Zip Code 90030) is 91 km. distant from Agrigento, 94 km. from Caltanissetta, 201 km. from Enna, 261 km. from Messina, 41 km. from Palermo, which province it belongs to, 227 km. from Ragusa, 285 km. from Siracusa, 140 km. from Trapani.
The municipality has 3.134 inhabitants and its area is 4.943 hectares for a density of population of 63 inhabitants per square kilometre. It rises on an internal hilly area and is 550 metres above sea-level.

Mezzojuso is important from the agricultural point of view, its products are corn, grapes, olives, chestnuts, almonds but also dairying products are present in its economy.
The name of the town derives from Arabic Manzil Jusuf and it means village of Giuseppe. In 1400 it was an Albanian colony and was peopled by refugees escaped the Turkish advance.
Then it became a feud under possession of Corvo family of the Earls of Villavaga.
As regards monuments it is important to visit the Church of the Annunziata, with Latin rite, and the Church of St. Nicolò, with Greek rite, both date back to 1500.
Important is the Cenobio Basiliano (Basilian Coenobium) that gave the appellative of "Athens of Albanian Sicilian colonies" to the small town and is seat of a famous laboratory where are restored old books.
