Palazzo Adriano (Zip Code 90030) is 103 km. far from Agrigento, 83 km. from Caltanissetta, 225 km. from Catania, 133 km. from Enna, 283 km. from Messina, 89 km. from Palermo, which province it belongs to, 239 km. from Ragusa, 284 km. from Siracusa, 147 km. from Trapani.
The municipality has 2.687 inhabitants and an area of 12.925 hectares for a density of population of 21 inhabitants per square kilometre. It rises on a mountainous internal area and is 680 metres above sea-level.

Among agricultural products mainly cultivated are cereals, olives, grapes, almonds, walnuts, prickly pears. Important is also cattle and sheep breeding as well as dairying products.
The name Palazzo derives from Sicilian dialect U Palazzu (the building). Adriano instead comes from Latin and it indicates the name of an adjacent wood. The first nucleus has been founded during the XV century by a group of Greek-Albanian refugees escaped to Turkish persecution.

In 1523 the Cardinal of Fossanova let the small village to Opezinga brothers from Pisa. Later, in 1845, the small town came from ecclesiastic jurisdiction of Agrigento to diocese of Monreale.
In the monumental field there are the Chiesa della Madonna del Lume (Church of Our Lady of Light) with Latin rite, and the Chiesa of Maria SS. Assunta, with Greek-Byzantine rite, both of the XVIII century. Important is the splendid Palazzo Dara (Dara Palace) that houses town offices.
Palazzo Adriano has been chosen to film exterior shoots of "Nuovo cinema Paradiso" by the director Giuseppe Tornatore.
