From the XII century Prizzi has become a
feudal village and was given to Monastery of St. Angelo, a
property of the Cistercians. In the XIII and XIV centuries it
came into domination of Bonanno and remained until 1812
when feudal duties were abolished.
In the artistical field there are the Cathedral Church of XVI
century built on the original Chiesa di S. Giorgio (Church of
St. George); the Chiesa del Crocifisso (Church of Crucifix)
of 1706 typical baroque made. Of the medieval Castle we
have only some ruins.
Peculiar of Prizzi is the so-called "Ballo dei Diavoli" (Dance
of Devils) that takes place on Easter Sunday and represents
the fight between good and evil.
