The Zacco Palace

Amongst the many noble palaces adorning Ragusa, one of the most attractive and luxurious is Palazzo Zacco.

Situated on a corner, you can admire it from many points and it looks different from all perspectives.

On its facade the Baroque Palace has a huge family coat of arms held by little angels.

Very elegant is the entrance portal with its columns surmounted by Corinthian capitals.

The columns sustain the central balcony with a grating decorated by big wrought iron flowers.

Unique and also very interesting are the other balconies with graven brackets, representing masks and everyday life figures. Very impressive is the balcony with a sneering mask sticking out its tongue: the face is so natural and capturing that it seems to mock passers-by.
