Tourism in Francofonte
Francofonte, a charming town stretching over a hill, has a delightful Mother Church. The church, destroyed by the 1693 earthquake, was rebuilt in 1699 thanks to the economical support of the people, as well as Marquis Ferdinando Francesco Gravina, Lord of Francofonte. During the years, the church underwent many changes.
The church has a Latin cross plan and divided in three naves. The altars of the side naves are adorned by valuable paintings.
