Authors: Giuseppe Arcidiacono, Salvino Maltese This work of Giuseppe Arcidiacono investigates the baroque centers of the Noto Valley and the street plans from the second half of the 1700's until the advent of the railroad; he faces the thematic regarding the Siracusa-Ragusa-Licata railroad with respect to the national and isolane vicissitudes of the railways; he reconstructs the way of building, the constructive technical writing, techniques and elements of the railroad from Siracusa to Licata, asking himself about the problems of how such an opera might be useful again. The contribution of Salvino Maltese relates to a precise presentation of the railroad Noto-Pachino, today out of order. Giuseppe Arcidiacono bachelor in Rome in 1977; from that year he collaborates to the researches of the IUSA of Reggio Calabria, now Faculty of Architecture. Researcher from 1985 with the University of Reggio Calabria; from the 1998 he is associated professor of Architectonic andCcity Planning. He carried out numerous plans and competitions of architecture; between the last those for Alcamo 1996, Grammichele 1997, Acicastello, Cardeto 1998. Plans, articles and designs have been published on national and international reviews. In 1998 he was attending by the Ist. Italian of Culture to Vienna an Italian-Austrian meeting; he also speaked to the national encounters "Young Generation Italian Architecture ('89) and New Architecture in Sicily ('94). He published, among the others, the books: Handicraft and Industry in Catania, 1983; Images of a city, 1988; Two houses, 1988; The plan of the city, 1995; The margin like a plan, 1997. Salvino Marchese is a researcher with the Faculty of Architecture of Siracusa. |
