Deprived of its most important works of art, because of the earthquake that in 1968 shook the whole Belice valley, Vita has anyhow naturalistic plenty and it is full of beautiful landscapes. Among them stands out the Wood of the Barony. Placed at less than two kilometres from the inhabited centre on State demesne, ex Sicomo's feud, it covers an area of about hectares and is 630 metres high. It can admire typical plans of mediterranean flora.
Moreover foresters have taken care above all of rescue and development of aromatic plans which spontaneously grow in this place. The Wood of the Barony is surely the best destination for naturalistic excursions; thanks to the presence of pic-nic areas supplied with tables and benches, some barbecues to allow somebody to stay and have a pic-nic. |
